Had to buy these as a replacement part for a broken set on a vehicle. Vehicle was accidentally lifted incorrectly, causing a weak spot allowing for the previous step to break. These steps are extremely sturdy and easy to mount. Installation only took a few minutes, however there were already steps installed so no guess work was involved. The face of the step is heavily textured, allowing for a very positive friction surface that won’t slip when wet or snowy. This is for a set, two will be included with purchase. If you are looking for an easy, non flashy step that doesn’t take up too much space then this is it. Read more

I bought these steps for a 2017 Ram 1500 which these steps are supposed to work with according to the item page and seller information. However, this is a lie. They do not work with a 2017 Ram 1500 and according to other reviews, they don’t fit many of the trucks that the seller claims they fit. When attempting to install them, it quickly became obvious that I would have to drill 2 separate holes in the frame of my truck and 2 more holes at the very bottom lip of the exterior where the exterior shell of the cab is crimped to the frame. This is simply unacceptable. Then I noticed that the diagrams in the book for my frame style didn’t match the steps that I was supposed to attach to my truck. The diagram showed drill holes in the steps that weren’t present in the physical product in my hand. Furthermore, the angled C bracket didn’t look like the diagram and was impossible to fit on the frame in the manner depicted in the manual. Finally, the steps felt incredibly cheap as the aluminum was somewhat thin and poorly machined compared to other types. All in all, the sell page is a complete lie. Read more

Third time I have bought this brand of side step. Of course the learning curve has kicked in. Took me about 30 minutes to install. Follow the directions on placement. It works out very well. (Middle of the step lines up with the front edge of the seat frame). Comes with kit for different model trucks but for the Dodge trucks its very easy. Don’t need any of the adapters. I trust this brand because they have never failed. Read more

I can say, had these for about three months, so far so good. The set came with what appeared to be many variations of mounting hardware for different vehicles. Well made. Easy install on the F-150, some other vehicles look to take a bit more work to dial it in, but not much. What I like about these is they are somewhat low profile, they stick out just enough, so you don’t loose much in terms of ground clearance. Some of the others are just a bit too big in my opinion, at least for a 4X4. I suggest since drilling into the undercarriage, coat the holes with some RTV silicone before mounting to protect from rust. I will be purchasing another one for the extended cab kicker door. I installed on a 2012 F150 regular cab. As stated in an earlier post, a template would have been nice for the larger holes. I could have easily made one but didn’t. That resulted in drilling the larger holes a little off center. Easily made them work. For the small holes I used 1″self tapping screws, much easier than the ones provided. Don’t forget the safety glasses, laying on your back, lots of metal shavings. Very pleased with the outcome. I chose polished to match the chrome bumpers & tool box, though the black would have been just as nice. Read more

It was getting hard for my wife and I to get into our Ford F250 that we use to pull our trailer. I bought these and they are one-piece aluminum and very sturdy. I worried about me being able to install them. They came complete will all hardware for different truck. I watched a video on internet and thought I’d try. I got them installed in 3 hours. The hardest thing to do was for me to get up and down. The actual installation was simple. Great looking also!!!! Read more

I installed this on my 66 Bronco. The aluminum finish is kind of pitted right out of the box. They supply 4 self tapping screws to install these hoops along with a “Dodge truck ONLY” bolt and spacer. I didn’t like the idea of only using the self tapping screws because I was afraid of the screws pulling out of the sheet metal so I cut and modified the Dodge truck spacer and used that also to help ensure that it doesn’t pull out. For the price of $30-40 this is a decent deal but these do not compare quality wise to the Carr brand hoops that I purchased 20 years ago. In fact, even after 20 years of being outside, the Carr hoops look better than these did right out of the box. Read more

2004 Silverado 2500 hd. A few tips : Measure holes that mount to pinch weld (center of one hole to the other) I found them to be 1/8″ off (8 1/4″,instead of 8 1/8″) as stated in directions. Use an accurate scale or vernier calipers to lay out pinch weld holes. The 3/8″ dimension in from pinch weld worked well. After drilling these holes, tighten the two 5/16″-18 bolts and use correct size transfer punch to leave punch marks to use for top holes, when center punching deeper. Drill these 3/16″ sheet metal screw holes and you’re ready to mount steps. I would use silicone caulking on hardware and under step mounts to weather-proof. Also buy grade 5 hardware or stainless steel. The supplied hardware is junk. My steps work very well and are sturdy. You can’t beat the price. Read more
